RIMing

I’m totally RIMing right now, which you can thank for this first blog post, and hopefully many more to come. “RIMing” is an expression an old friend of mine and I used to describe the state of “RIM”: Rejection-Induced Mania.

I’ve personally noticed that failure tends to push me to improve whatever I failed at, but for some reason, rejection seems to kick that muscle into absolute overdrive, especially if that rejection is romantic. Obviously, the RIMing tends to wear off the more I “get over” things, but the sheer amount of production that results from it remains. So I’m going to take full advantage of that.

So here we are with this blog and website, both brand new and 100% created in response to being dumped. However, both are things I’ve wanted to do for quite some time anyway, so the RIM really only intensified an ambition I already had.

This is the first blog post, and I think my plan here is to use this blog to: 1. keep myself accountable to the writing, and 2. keep a record of the journey as I go.

Fair warning: I do enough writing between Fate of Creation and my day job, so I do not plan on making the prose in these blogs anything special. By the time I get to these, that muscle will be well exhausted. So I’m basically saying you aren’t going to get much beyond proofreading, and honestly, I’m just going to use ChatGPT for that part, and that part only.

My goal is to do one of these weekly and update whoever wants to read it on my progress with my writing. The Fate of Creation series is my main “thing,” but if you’ve seen the other parts of the site, I have some other things in the works too. Those are all secondary priorities right now, though, which means this blog will MOSTLY be Fate of Creation-related.

Anyways, that’s it for now. I have to take advantage of the RIMing energy while I still have it, and I’d much rather use that energy to write-write than to write about RIMing lol.
